Following the highly successful Connecting Up Conferences 2004-2008. Australia’s National Nonprofit Technology Conference Connecting Up 2009 ‘The Online Future of Nonprofits Are we there yet?’
will be held on the 11th-12th May with workshops on the 13th May. The conference will be held in Sydney (New South Wales) this year at the Brighton Novotel.

It is already shaping up to be one of the best yet in the Connecting Up Series. Last year was a corker in Brisbane and this year in Sydney has already attracted an exciting crew with more to come:

  • We have the Managing Director of Microsoft Australia, Tracey Fellows, joining us as a speaker to talk about the amazing things Microsoft does in and for the community and some of their new directions.
  • We have Jay and Ryanne – the star Video Blog experts of the US presenting at the conference and also running a fantastic workshop on Wed  13th ( Book early for this one!) Check out their awesome site showing how it can be done - raise the profile of your community group! http://ryanishungry.com

Connecting Up Australia 2008 technology capacity survey of the nonprofit sector

Welcome to the Connecting Up Australia 2008 technology capacity survey of the non-profit sector.

ICT Resources

Welcome to Connecting Up Australia’s ICT Resources for Nonprofits! This service will be expanding to include many useful sources of information about Information, Communication and Technology that we can use to both improve our own internal operations as well as provide more innovative programs to our target groups. There are so many new and exciting technologies which will enable new ways of reaching our targets and hopefully improving access. The social web or Web 2.0 also provides a new medium for not only service delivery but also networking for our sector. Connecting Up will launch its new NFP Web 2.0 soon to allow us to create networking groups and share information via video conferencing, live chats, blogs and shared wikipedia style documents.

If you were a CommunIT user this is your new reference area for useful RSS feeds and How to Guides.

If you attended the Connecting Up Conference you will find pod and videocasts here from the conference and shared photos of the events.

NTEN CMS Satisfaction Report: Now Available

Choosing a Content Management System can be frustrating and overwhelming. With so many choices and so little time to research all the options, many of us rely heavily on the recommendations of our peers to cut through the noise and provide some insight. This is why NTEN is proud to present the results of our first CMS Satisfaction Survey.

Should Your Organization Use Social Networking Sites?

You've likely heard of Web sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn. These types of tools, collectively known as social networking sites, allow individuals (and sometimes organizations) to create online profiles, discover others who share their interests, and create an online network of contacts and supporters.
